Unusual notation in spatial geometry problem

Post autor: JaxsonIan »

I got over this problem, and since english is not my native language I find some suspicious details in this specific ex.

This is the text

" Please calculate the volume and mass storage capacity of a perfectly cylindrical tank. It is completely filled without a

slope angle with a material whose density is 1300 kg / m ^ 3.

Tank dimensions - Diameter (D): 2000 mm / Slant height: 1.5 D"

First of all I guess that a perfect cylinder is one that has no curves and does not have a slope . why does it say slant height if it's a perfect cylinder "without a slope angle"? I know that slant height is used only in cones or pyramids, right?

Then the tank dimensions. diameter (D)= 2000 mm,okay. but the "slant height" is equal to 1,5 D. What does the second D stand for? there is no multiply sign between them and there is no u.m. "D" for lenght. is it just the cylinder height? and why wouldn't they just multiply it in the first place with 1,5.

Any thoughts? Thank you!
